Suzanne Renaud – Bohuslav Reynek
A highlight of Franco-Czech cultural ties
In 1985, the City of Grenoble officially showed interest in the poetry and graphic work of the Czech engraver Bohuslav Reynek and the poetry of his French wife Suzanne Renaud by holding an exhibition at the Maison Stendhal with the participation of the Grenoble Municipal Library.
The event marked the start in France of a methodical study, in close cooperation with their sons, Michel and Daniel Reynek, of the creative couple’s life and work.
In December 1993, the foundation set up Romarin – Les Amis de Suzanne Renaud et Bohuslav Reynek [Romarin – The Friends of Suzanne Renaud and Bohuslav Reynek], a non-profit group that carries on the mission, uninterrupted for 30 years, of preserving and promoting a precious heritage common to both artists’ countries: France and the Czech Republic.
